Renowned TIME Magazine has awarded Dr Lokurlu together with a selected group of other personalities from all over the world "Global Hero of the Environment 2007" and has portrayed him and his company in one of the October issues (published October 19th, 2007 and dedicated to this year's heroes).

Dr Lokurlu is one of two German laureates only, also German federal chancellor Angela Merkel has been honoured by TIME. Other 2008 laureates are amongst others Prince Charles, Al Gore, Robert Redford and Richard Branson.

For a number of years, the magazine has now honoured outstanding personalities worldwide for special services to a certain cause. This year's Hero award prizes pioneers who have shown extraordinary commitment in the area of environment protection and sustainability and who have initiated worldwide changes and new developments.

Former Heroes were men and women from numerous countries and very different backgrounds: From Mikhail Gorbatchev to German singer Herbert Grönemeyer, from French soccer star Thierry Henry to acclaimed Spanish movie director Pedro Almodovar.

Dr Lokurlu will take part in the festive award ceremony held in London this coming Thursday, October 25th. Besides this year's and former laureates, many celebrities known from politics and society have been invited to join the celebration.
