Solar Energy
The sun ist the most continous and environment friendly source of energy that is provided all over the world in the most affluent abundance. It is - at present - the only source of energy that is capable of satisfying the ever increasing energy demand of humankind whose coverage with conventional energy sources is becoming more and more difficult.

The amount of solar energy reaching earth is vast and exceeds the total demand of the entire population on earth several times over. It is imperative to make this energy usable and at the same time to apply a technology that is economically efficient and thereby attractive also for a large amount of energy consumers. SOLITEM has succeeded with this mission in a unique way:

The initial investment costs for the installation of a SOLITEM solar heating and cooling system are slightly higher than those for a system based on conventional energy sources. However, considering the current energy tariffs which already now can be expected to raise even higher, the operation costs of a SOLITEM system are extraordinarily low in a long-term perspective. Our professionally projected and constructed components make solar heating and cooling of buildings by far more profitable and ecologically beneficial than electricity based cooling.

Naturally, each customer has to consider cost saving first and foremost, apart from other rationales such as environment protection and sustainability. Therefore, SOLITEM offers custom-made feasibility studies for each individual project which contains detailed information on the costs and savings and thus present a reliable and sincere basis for the customer's decision-making process.

The crucial advantage of the SOLITEM technology is its enormous degree of efficiency and the high temperatures the SOLITEM systems can provide and which flat plate collectors systems can not reach. The spectrum of application possibilities for our systems is therefor especially wide and the technology's flexibility allows a highly individual adaptation to the customer's requirements.

The advantages of solar energy systems at a glance
environmentally friendly systems, active contribution to the conservation of fossil energy reserves and to the reduction of greenhouse gases, use of the sun as inexhaustible and in many parts of the globe reliable energy source, very low long-term operation costs

The solar cooling system - outstanding technology with special advantages:
The Parabolic Trough Collectors (PTC) developed and manufactued by SOLITEM are inexpensive and through their wide temperature range and the systems' high degree of efficiency very cost efficient.

Due to their lightweight constructin and the very low specific weight, all SOLITEM PTC collectors are designed and very suitable for roof installation or for the mounting on steel constructions (e.g. above parking lots, where they can at the same time provide shade). Thus, for the first time, the use of solar energy for cooling and steam production has been made available for hotels, holiday resorts and other tourism or industry related building complexes even if no additional unused piece of land is available to mount the collectors. This reduces the investment costs considerably and allows the use of solar energy also in heavily developed areas.

For hotel complexes and other large buildings, SOLITEM has developed integrated energy supply systems. With this concept, part of the heat is gained from PTC collectors while the remaining part is provided by a Combined heat, cooling and power system (CHCP) or a boiler.
The heat drives a 2-stage absorption chiller or is used for various other applications such as space heating, hot water supply in the laundry, the kitchen etc.
