Dr. Ahmet Lokurlu, managing director of SOLITEM GmbH, received the European Solar Award 2005 of EUROSOLAR in the category "Industrial and Commercial Enterprises" on December 7, 2005 in Berlin.

The SOLITEM GmbH received this award for its innovative system for solar cooling, which has already won several prizes like the Energy Globe Award and the Global 100 Eco-Tech Award.

With this award, the Jury of EUROSOLAR (European Association for Renewable Energies) honored the innovation as well as the realization of the pilot project for solar air conditioning which has been installed by SOLITEM in the TUI-Hotel Iberotel Sarigermepark in Dalaman, Turkey two years ago and has been running successfully ever since.

The seeming contradiction to use heat for cold generation fascinates and raises lively interest among experts.
